Apostille and attestation services
Anybody who has ever lived in the United Kingdom can apply for a basic disclosure. It can be used for almost any job role; however, some job roles must legally have a higher level of check (for example, teachers and those providing care). If a higher level of check is required and you are self-employed, you must register with a recruitment agency.
Basic disclosures can be used for a variety of reasons:
- Visa applications
- Individual personal licence purposes, liquor licences etc.
- If you are unemployed and would like to enhance your C.V.
- If you are self-employed and need to prove you have had a criminal record check.
- If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for standard or enhanced disclosures.
We can also carry out apostille and further attestation alongside the individual basic disclosures.
An apostille is an official government issued certificate attached to a basic disclosure, so that it will be accepted in other countries that recognise the apostille. The authority receiving the disclosure should then accept it without requesting further evidence that the disclosure is true and legal. Please see here for more information regarding the apostille.
Please note that APCS are only able to process individual applications through Disclosure Scotland. If you are an individual living in England or Wales you can apply for your own basic check directly from the Disclosure & Barring Service here.
