Overseas Basic Apostille

An apostille is a government issued certificate attached to a document, such as a basic check. Each Apostille is unique because the Foreign & Commonwealth Office sign, date and number each one.

An Apostille will allow authorities in other countries to accept your UK basic check. Over 90 countries accept the Apostille. It is important to check whether your document will need Attestation by an embassy. If you do need Attestation, APCS can provide this to you as well as the Apostille.

How does the apostille process work?

  • We countersign your basic check application and send it to the relevant government agency for processing
  • We receive your disclosure certificate and get it notarised
  • We post your certificate to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in the UK where the Apostille is applied
  • We post the certificate with Apostille to you
